PRIVACY POLICY

Your privacy is a priority for us at Altrua Care. This data protection policy explains how we collect, use, store, share, transmit, transfer, delete, or otherwise process (collectively, “process”) your personal data. It outlines our commitment to safeguarding your information and explains how to reach us with any questions about data protection.

SCOPE

This policy covers Altrua Care’s processing of personal data, directly or indirectly, from all individuals, including current, past, or potential job applicants, employees, clients, consumers, children, suppliers, contractors, shareholders, and other third parties. Here, “personal data” refers to any information relating to an identified or identifiable individual. “You” and “your” refer to any individual covered under this policy, while “we,” “us,” “our,” and “Altrua Care” refer to Altrua Care entities.

COLLECTION AND PROCESSING OF PERSONAL DATA

COLLECTION AND PROCESSING OF PERSONAL DATA

We comply with all relevant data protection legislation and ensure that personal data is collected and processed in accordance with European data protection law and any additional applicable local laws.

LAWFULNESS, FAIRNESS AND TRANSPARENCY

We only collect and process personal data for lawful reasons, such as fulfilling contractual obligations, meeting legal requirements, or based on your prior consent. We also process personal data for Altrua Care’s legitimate interests, provided that these do not override your rights. When collecting your personal data, we provide you with clear information on who processes your data, the purposes, your rights, and how to exercise them, unless doing so would be disproportionate. Where legally required, we seek your prior consent before processing sensitive personal data.

LEGITIMATE PURPOSE, LIMITATION, AND DATA MINIMISATION

Personal data is collected for specified, explicit, and legitimate purposes only and is not further processed beyond these purposes.

When acting for our purposes, we primarily process personal data for recruitment, human resources, accounting, finance, risk management, health and safety, IT and information security, client relationship management, sales and marketing, compliance, legal corporate management, and other necessary operations supporting Altrua Care.

DATA ACCURACY AND STORAGE LIMITATION

Altrua Care keeps your personal data accurate and up-to-date as necessary. We retain data only as long as needed for the purposes collected, or longer if required by law or for defence in legal claims. For details on specific retention periods, please contact us. When retention periods end, we securely destroy personal data in line with legal requirements.

SECURITY OF PERSONAL DATA

We employ technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against unauthorised access, alteration, or loss. Our practices include Privacy by Design, Privacy by Default, and Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs) where necessary. Sensitive data is provided with additional security protections.

DISCLOSURE OF PERSONAL DATA

We may share personal data in the following instances:

  • With Altrua Care entities for purposes outlined in this policy.

  • With service providers who assist us with these purposes.

  • With organisations performing anti-money laundering, crime prevention, and fraud detection functions.

  • With legal authorities when required by law or for legal proceedings.

  • With third-party service providers, domestically or internationally, based on contractual confidentiality.

  • In case of a business sale or acquisition.

INTERNATIONAL TRANSFERS OF PERSONAL DATA

European data protection laws restrict transferring data outside the UK/EEA to countries without adequate protection. Altrua Care may share data with its parent company, Elevate Care International (ECI), in the United States for compliance purposes. We use standard contractual clauses and other safeguards to protect personal data during such transfers. You will be informed of data transfers through privacy statements. For further information, please contact us.

CHILDREN'S PRIVACY

Children require specific protection for their personal data. We do not collect children’s data without parental consent where required, nor do we target our services toward children unless specifically appropriate. Contact us if you believe we may have mistakenly collected a child’s data.

UPDATES

We may update this policy periodically as our business and legal obligations evolve. If there are significant changes, we will post a notice on our website and, where appropriate, directly inform you of these changes.
